Lena Polychroni is 26 years old, and for the past 8 years, she has been breathing thanks to someone else’s lungs. This is because she “had” to let go of her own due to cystic fibrosis, a genetic disorder with which she’s struggled her entire life. Her vision is to contribute to the improvement of the healthcare system, so that people stop dying on transplant waiting lists due to organ transplant shortage, or the case being “too challenging”.
