Plaza Ensemble was founded in 2004 by Thanasis Mpililis, Akis Archondis, Kostas Tsougras and Giannis Polimeneris, aiming at performing compositions that will address a wide audience and simultaneously reflect the academic ethos and the substantial artistic value of their creators.
The members of Ensemble have studied music in conservatories, music academies and universities in Greece and abroad and for the last twenty-five years they have been participating in concerts and recordings of miscellaneous music genres (classical, contemporary, cinematic music, Greek “entechno” (art) music, nuevo tango, freestyle, jazz etc.).
Every instrumental or vocal artwork that is concluded in Ensemble’s repertory is adjusted and orchestrated by the group’s members, aiming to promote their distinctive sound palette as well as to suggest an unconventional performing aspect of the original composition.
