Giannis Petrou

Giannis Petrou was born in Lagadas, Thessaloniki in 1996. He began rowing at the age of 12. Very soon he discovered his love for the rowing sport and at the same time managed to join the competitive track. In 2012, in the Balkan Championship (children’s category), he won first place and the gold medal while in 2013 he won 3rd place (quadruple teen category) and in 2014 he won the gold medal this time in double teen category. The next two years were decisive for his subsequent racing, as he became a member of the Greek National Team, winning the bronze medal at the 2015 World Championship (double young men category) and in 2016 he participated in the Olympic Games of Rio de Janeiro occupying the 6th position in the final quadruple men. Since 2016, he’s been an undergraduate at the Psychology Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
