giorgos A. Konstantinou

Born in Cyprus. He experienced the trauma of being a refugee due to the Turkish invasion of his homeland (1974).

Majored in Pedagogical studies; engaged in painting, literature and engraving. He participated in group exhibitions (1995 – 2006) and has in his portfolio several individual exhibitions in Cyprus, Greece and France (2007-2022).

His pieces are found in many private collections, inside and outside Cyprus, as well as in museums in Cyprus and Greece. He has published books that combine works of painting and engraving with his lyrical poetic reflection, among which: Agnostou Chronou (2011), Apotiposis sti Siopi (2016), Ta Filikoutounia – Antiphonimata (2020). The play Tria Aderfkia… tria mila … tzi enas Drakos (2021) is based on a traditional Cypriot fairy tale.

He illustrated several books, the last of which was the important edition of the Byzantine novel “Kallimachos and Chrysorrhoe” (AUTH, Institute of Modern Greek Studies).
