Katerina Loukaki

Dr. Katerina Loukaki was born in Athens where she currently works as a veterinarian. She is a graduate of the Veterinary School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where she completed her studies in 1980. After graduation, she created a first pet care clinic in a suburb of Athens and had the honor of being elected President of the Greek Veterinary Society. From 2007 to 2011 she completed her doctoral dissertation at the Medical School of the University of Athens, focusing her research on “Therapeutic contribution of pets to children with chronic problems and healthy children, with a rabbit as a pet.” This research was the first doctoral thesis in this field, both in Greece and abroad. At TEDxAUTH 2018, she will share her experience on alternative medical treatments for cancer patients.
